A two-step hybrid transition system built for hard and extra-hard concrete, where metal scratches are hardest to chase out and standard resins glaze over. The hybrid diamond matrix cuts like a metal and refines like a resin, so you can move from metal bond straight into resin without leaving scratches behind, and often skip a grinding step along the way. Our HX pads are built heavier and more durable than typical transitional pads, so they hold their shape and keep cutting over more square footage. The open cross-channel face clears slurry and dust and keeps the pad running cool.

  • 3HX (grey): Approx. 40 grit. Run after coarse metal to remove deep metal scratches.
  • 5HX (black): Approx. 150 grit. Refines the surface and sets up the first resin step.
  • Diameter: 3"
  • Concrete: Hard to extra-hard
  • Use: Dry or wet
  • Backing: Hook-and-loop; fits standard 3" hook-and-loop puck holders on most planetary grinders
  • In the sequence: After metal bond, before resin
  • Best for: Saving steps on hard slabs where a clean metal-to-resin transition is critical
  • Tool life: Approx. 10,000 sq ft per set*

*Actual tool life depends on concrete hardness and condition, aggregate, machine weight and speed, water use and operator technique. Results on your job may vary.
